Do I need a circle cutter to cut paper inlays in any case?
No. As an alternative or in addition to a circle cutter we offer special button paper making any cutting needless.
Can I also cut my paper inlays with common scissors?
This is not recommended. The diameter of the paper inlay has to be exactly the same as the foil`s diameter or rather the cutting size. When you produce a button the paper inlay will be put around the button together with the foil. If the paper does not fit exactly problems might appear and the button might not be closed correctly. That`s why you should use a circle cutter or even easier our special button paper.
Which paper weight should I use?
You should use normal, common paper (e.g. copying paper). When you produce a button the paper will be put around the button together with the foil. So it should not be too thick, to come off best between 80 and 90 g/qm.
Can I also use fabric instead of paper inlays?
In general our badge making machines are constructed for the usage of paper inlays (about 80-90g) and not for the usage of fabric. Therefor we can not guarantee 100% perfect buttons if you use fabric. But many customers tell us that the usage of fabric is possible without problems. Of course this is depending on the constitution of the fabric. Thin and flexible fabric will surely be more suited than thick and unflexible fabric.
What is the function of the template of circle cutter type 2002?
The exchangeable, transparent template of acrylic glass is fixed at the foot of the circle cutter. With its help the desired design on printed paper can easily be centered. The paper inlay can be cut correctly to a millimetre, the paper will not slip. Through the template you can see in advance how much of the design will be visible later, on the ready button.
How should I use circle cutter type 2002?
The circle cutter is very easy to use. Just put the template at the bottom of the circle cutter onto the paper with the desired design. After you have centered it, turn the rotary arm with the blade around the template.
What if the blade becomes blunt?
The cutting blades are standard 18 mm blades from carpet knives. Spare blades are available from us or at nearly every home improvement store. To keep the blade sharp as long as possible you should exclusively cut on the glass plate which is delivered together with the circle cutter.
What is the function of the metal template of circle cutter type 2006?
Every circle cutter is equipped with one metal plate (as template) and knife block according to the ordered button size. With the help of the cutout at the bottom of the circle cutter the chosen design can easily be centered. Because of the solid construction of the cutter the paper inlay can be cut 100% exactly and the paper will not slip.
How should I use circle cutter type 2006?
The circle cutter is very easy to use. Put it onto the desired design and center it with the help of the template. Now press the crank handle down and turn it around a few times.
Why is circle cutter type 2006 especially recommended for children?
The cutting knife is a round knife of polished, hardened steel. The cutting takes place when the knife is pressed onto the plastic underlay. While using the circle cutter there is no danger of hurting yourself. Because of the converted material the circle cutter is additionally very robust and intensitive and can also resist a rude handling without problems.
What if the knife becomes blunt?
Spare knives are available in packing units of 5 pieces. To keep the knife sharp you should exclusively cut on the plastic underlay delivered together with the circle cutter.
Is there a button size circle cutter type 2006 is especially recommended for?
Experience shows that circle cutter type 2006 is especially to be recommended for the small button size 25 mm.
What is the delivery time for ready made button badges?
After we have received your order including print file, we need about 8 working days until the shipment of your order up to about 5.000 pieces can take place. For higher quantities the standard delivery time is accordingly longer, depending on the total quantity. If you are in a hurry of course we do our best to react flexible on our customer`s wishes. The best would be if you coordinate the delivery date with us before!
Is there a minimum order quantity?
The minimum order quantity for ready madge button badges is 100 pieces per design. To make sure a constant, high quality we basically print Offset. Quantities of less than 100 pieces would be disproportinately expensive so that we do not offer these.
Where do I find prices for quantities of more than 10.000 pieces?
As a professional manufacturer of ready made button badges we of course also offer higher quantities. Ask us for an individual offer!
Can I order exactly the quantity of buttons I need, e.g. 551 pieces?
Yes, from the minimum order quantity of 100 pieces per design on we produce the exactly ordered quantity.
Do you also offer buttons with individual imprint of different names?
No, sorry but we can not offer that. The print office we are cooperating with, exclusively works with Offset printing, not with digital printing. Therefor a printing with individual names would be disproportionally expensive.
But we have a very comfortable solution for you: Our Badge Designer 2.0 provides a function for individual name imprint (called "list printing"). You can create a new list directly in the Badge Designer itself or you can import an exisiting list from Excel by saving it as a CSV-file and uploading it. Of course you can also print other data than just names.
Do you also offer buttons with running numeration?
Yes, we do. But our standard price list is not valid for that. Please contact us if you are interested.
To produce buttons with running numeration yourself, you can also use the "list printing" function of our Badge Designer 2.0. Therefor you can create a new list directly in the Badge Designer itself or you can import an exisiting list from Excel by saving it as a CSV-file and uploading it. Of course you can also print other data than just numbers.
How will the design be positioned on the button?
Basically we overtake the stand arising from the delivered print file. If your print file should not provide a definite positioning we act on the assumption that the design shall be positioned centered in the middle of the button. Please regard: During the button production as well as during the punching process of the paperinlays, displacement tolerances of in total 1 mm might appear. For round designs we therefor suggest a bigger distance to the border of the button.
Which colour palette do I have to use when I generate my button design?
The printing takes place 4-colour Euroscala (CMYK), 80 LPI (lines per inch). When you create your print file you must use the colour palette CMYK (Euroscale), not RGB or spot colours. Print files using the colour palette RGB or containing spot colours will be transformed into Euroscale by our print office. Thereby colour variations can occur.
Can all colours be brought out using CMYK Euroscale?
Using CMYK Euroscale a huge scope of colours can be brought out. But if you should go for a spot colour Pantone or HKS the colour result in CMYK Euroscale might possibly be differing, depending on the chosen colour. There are several colours, e.g. a shiny Orange like HKS 6 or HKS 7 as well as Gold and Silver, which can not optimally be realized using CMYK Euroscale.
Can my design also be printed with spot colours?
Yes, by request designs in quantities of minimum 500 pieces can also be printed with spot colours Pantone or HKS (instead of CMYK). Additionally to the scale price for the quantity of printed buttons in CMYK, there will be an extra charge of 35,70 € incl. VAT per spot colour. Maximally 4 spot colours can be printed.
To make an online order for printed buttons with spot colours, add the desired quantity of printed buttons to your shopping cart at first. Then enter the sub-category "EXTRAS". Choose the article "spot colour Pantone or HKS". Choose between the Pantone or HKS colour fan, enter the desired quantity of spot colours and according colour numbers and add the article to your shopping cart.
Where does the printing take place?
For the printing of the paper inlays we work together with a professional print office nearby us since many years. Modern technology and staff with professional expertise ensure that the printings are of highest possible quality and that the punching process is carried out with maximum possible accuracy.
Which printing procedure does your print office apply?
Our print office applies a high-value Offset printing with 80 LPI (lines per inch).
Which file formats are acceptable for you?
Suitable file formats for our printing: PDF-, EPS-, TIFF-, JPEG-files or open (native) file formats from current graphic
programmes such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or Corel Draw (up to version 10). Print files generated for example in Word, Powerpoint or Excel are suitable to only a limited extent.
Is there a minimum resolution required?
For a best possible print result the resolution should be of at least 300 dpi. Integrated graphics as well as logos or pictures also have to be of a high resolution to avoid a pixelated or blurred result. Especially downloaded graphics from the internet or scanned pictures often are of a much too low resolution.
Can I generate my print file with the help of the Online-Badge-Designer 2.0?
Yes. The PDF file which will be generated in our Badge Designer 2.0 has a resolution of 300dpi so that it fulfills the requirements for a professional print quality. You can email us (or upload in the article itself) any print file you have created with our Badge Designer 2.0 concerning your online order for printed buttons.
What if my print file is faulty?
All print files are controlled by us and our print office concerning printability. If it comes up that extensive reworks are necessary we will get in touch with you.
Is it still possible to make a change after I already sent you my print file?

Depending on this status the change will be possible without high effort. If there has already handling been done you decide if the change shall be made anyway, we will charge the already originated costs to you then.
What is a digital proof?
A digital proof is a simulation of the later Offset-Printing, close to the later end result of colours. A digital proof is generated with the help of special and professional proof equipment on a technologically most advanced level. The generated colours are at least 98% close to the later end result. Because of the different printing technology the end procuct (printed Offset) will not exactly be in total agreement with the digital proof. A digital proof is generated to control the elements of the print file as well as to check the expected result of colours before the printing of the complete quantity.
What is a press proof and when does it make sense?
This test print is made with the same Offset-printing machine as the later printing of the complete quantity, the generated colours are nearly 100% close to end result. The processes taking place are exactly the same as for the later printing of the complete quantity but the printing is stopped after a short time. Because of that a press proof involves high effort and therefor is also pretty costly. We suggest a press proof for high quantities from about 50.000 pices on. Of course the production of a press proof is also possible for smaller quantities if desired.
What can cause a delay in delivery?
Delayed availability of the print file, of your order or faulty print files can cause a delay in delivery. The delivery time is calculated from the moment on when we have received a printable print file or rather your release of the printing.
Can an order for ready made button badges also contain several designs?
An order for ready madge button badges can also contain several designs. For example: 2.000 ready made button badges can consist of 2 different designs. 1.000 buttons of each design are produced, but the complete order is for 2.000 pieces. For the calculation of price the favorable scale price for 2.000 pieces is concerned. Only the additional charges for the arrangement of the second design will be charged. Conditions for the calculation of the scale price for the complete order quantity are:
Same button size, same colour mode, minimum quantity of 100 pieces per design.
How can I provide my print file?
